Our Project with ISHLD

Our vision is to provide the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) with a user- friendly website and an application that includes the information pack, related to mental health conditions and first aid of students in Schools, to be easily accessible to the key stakeholders when needed.

Project Objectives

  • To allow the teachers to view the information pack when needed
  • To allow the teachers to log in to their account to view information
  • To make it available online on a website
  • To make it available as an application that is compatible with both iOS and Android operating systems
  • To be able to implement it in all NSW schools
  • To allow the client to log in to the system to make changes at anytime
  • To allow the client to make it visible to different types of stakeholders

Design Approach

To develop the website, we will be using the SCRUM methodology. It is an agile method that consists of various iterations (aka sprints) lasting 2 to 4 weeks, with each sprint working on a specified core feature of the website. At the end of each sprint, the website is presented to the client and they provide feedback and future sprints are carried out to improve existing features while adding new functionality. The main advantage of this agile method is flexibility. SCRUM accommodates change in the project, whether it is the evolution of user needs or identification of problem areas within the website. It gives the client an active role in the success of the system and they can work collaboratively with the team to go above and beyond to satisfy the needs of the user.
